Hello. My name is Dawn, I am a Garden Designer of both contemporary and country style gardens and live in Cheshire in the UK where I have my own large cottage-style garden. Originally a Londoner, I moved to Cheshire 10 years ago with my husband (Him Watching the Telly) moving into a rural property where I inherited a raised bed around the house, a couple of small shrub beds, a large lawn and two massive areas of garden rubbish. I could either ignore the garden and grass it all over or throw myself whole heartedly into this gardening lark. I did the latter and taught myself how to garden with the help of friends, books, tv and lectures. Now I have a garden divided into several “rooms” within a theme of circles. The garden has a basic structure of trees and shrubs but has also romantic, cottage style flowers and climbing perennials. At the end of the garden is a Potager where I have fruit trees, veg growing in raised beds and flower beds for cutting. I was also lucky enough to buy a brick based Hartley Botanic greenhouse which is almost always full, as I really enjoy growing plants from seed and propagating whenever I can. I thought I would start a blog to share some of my tips and random thoughts about gardening in my own garden, news about interesting garden design projects I have on and pictures of gardens I have visited on my travels. I no doubt will add in any other stuff that tickles my fancy (including my specialist subject of Gin) in the hope that it also interests you. Please let me know what you think by contacting me.
